As a parent, you want to make sure that your children is well equipped to walk the path of life. You want them to have an adequate physical, mental and emotional well-being to be able to deal with strength with whatever comes. Perhaps you're a mother and you've discovered positive thinking and want to pass it on to your children. Or perhaps you've heard your children defaulting to negative thinking and want to show them how they can choose their thoughts and their way of looking at life. Because of the way the story is told and the fluid language, this book can really touch children and help them to find their own self-worth and to believe in themselves.
It all starts when Chin discovers a shiny rock which seems to have magical powers. Together with his dog Eagle, Chin has all sorts of adventures and experiences, and finds out about the importance of believing in himself.
Chin has to fight the shadow minions, which are creatures that cause the person they target to think in negative ways towards themselves. The power of the shadow minions is such that makes the person affected to doubt themselves. Through fighting the shadow minions Chin realizes the power of positive thinking - and so the reader makes the connections: shadow minions as negative thoughts, and the magical words Ab Intra which really can be used as a mantra to realize our own strength. This book makes for a light and very entertaining read, and has a few powerful insights. It contains the absolute truth: that the power to our own life lies within us, starting from our own thoughts and beliefs. One of my favourite sentences from the book is this: "Chin and the magic stones" is a great book for positive thinking for children - in fact for anybody open to see, in a magical way, how our thoughts create our feelings.
