Are You Following The Silent Energy?
In this issue...
The highlight of my life in the past month has been my day job: I love it!! I cannot share the name of the company I work for or my job title, but what I basically do is I inform people who have complained about the complaining process and how the company has arrived at whatever conclusion.
Because of the subject of the complaint, the people I deal with are going through very difficult emotions, like deep pain, grief, anger, or high anxiety. Some of them also have mental health problems or personality disorders. Some of them have had difficult experiences in their lives, like a complainant who had been tortured by the IRA.
My task is to give the complainant information in a way that is sensitive to the emotions they are going through and to their personality. Besides, some of the information I need to give them is not what they want to hear - so I also have to manage the emotions that arise and ensure that the meetings conclude in as much a positive way as possible.
Most people I've spoken to in the organization say that they don't envy my job - it is a difficult one at some level. Myself, however, I'm loving it - I gain great satisfaction from being able to deliver information in a caring, compassionate way. And I love loving my job :)
But because it's all about balance, I've also been giving my attention to doing things that make me feel good and emotionally strong. I like taking walks and going to places by myself, taking pictures, and enjoying new sights - you can see there a picture of the Cutty Sark restored, as a result of a walk through Greenwich on a beautiful afternoon.
And all the while, I keep working on revising all the pages of the website. I was a bit over-ambitious when I thought I'd revise 21 pages a week - at present I just work on the pages as much time as possible, preferring quality over quantity :)

It's now been almost a decade that I became interested in positive thinking and the power of the mind to 'create' our reality.
I read lots of books, watched tons of videos, and put into practice every single tip I found. Then I started to share on my website what I was learning.
A few years later, in my late twenties, I discovered that I could 'feel' some sort of energy between my hands - like magnetic energy. I asked Barefoot Doctor for guidance, and we met an afternoon in London. He felt my hands and said "You've got it".
At the time I didn't quite know what it was that I had - I only knew that I could feel energy moving between my hands, and that if I put them on my body or on my husband's I could feel some sort of healing energy moving through my hands and the part of the body I was touching. I started self-studying reiki.
Even a few more years later, which makes now about a year or so ago, I discovered that I could 'hear' the energy of the day. That really did surprise me.
It happened like this. I was in the train one morning, on my way to work. The journey by train is about half an hour long, which I find perfect to read, write, or simply wake up :) Just after London Bridge station I sensed that there was a certain energy in the day - something that felt like information that the vibe of the day was a slow-and-steady one.
I had had precognitions before, like most of us do - thinking about someone and that someone phoning or emailing instantly; or when my dog died and my mom phoned to tell me, and my husband picked up the phone - the moment he called me to go to the phone I felt "Lolo has died". However, I had never felt before 'the vibe of the day', as I started to call it.
So I decided to follow it that particular day - not wanting to rush projects, just doing my work in a steady fashion, acting in a slow-and-steady way.
The following days I kept sensing that kind of energy. Some days felt as if it was time to act on projects that I had almost abandoned, other days felt perfect to experience lots of synchronicities, other days felt as if it was time not to rush or expect quick results, other days felt propitious for connections with people.
While I still live immersed in my life as a mortal, with the nitty-gritty of the day, I can most days sense the vibe of the day - and I have learned that what is appropriate is to act within that vibe. For instance, if the vibe is a slow one then it's best not to try to fix or get frustrated about what doesn't work, and maybe go back to it on the following day - invariably things work better later.
Now I don't really think that I have a special gift that you don't have; I believe that we are all capable of experiencing what I experience, of 'hearing' the invisible energy which informs this world and the mystery of life. I simply think that this discovery comes at different times for different people, and that it may be precipitated by certain events, like really painful experiences.
This sensing of energy is something that I don't really share with many people - most people would think I'm imagining things; most are sceptic - a friend questioned how could I know that that wasn't my mind making it all up. But here I am now, sharing it with you :)
The reason I share this with you is because I know that you will understand it, and maybe you'll feel excited about experiencing 'the silent energy' too. This energy feels like real guidance - like actual knowledge that allows you to flow easily with the day and make the most out of your time awake.
This energy also feels like a lot of fun! I'm lucky to have a good friend in the Netherlands who also feels 'the vibe of the day', and some mornings we exchange messages - "You hear that?", "Yes! An easy flowing day!", "Yes!" :)
And because the more, the merrier, I'd love to experience a reality where most of us feel and are guided by this silent energy. So here are my tips for you to start 'aligning' with the silent energy and experience your life from it:

My recommendation for this month is a very inspiring talk by Janine Shepherd at TED "You are not your body".
Long story short, Janine was involved in an accident that left her badly injured in several places of her body and paralysed, and with a diagnosis of being unable to walk again, let alone continue with her career as an athlete.
However, she managed to go all the way from that diagnosis to becoming an aerobatics pilot instructor, among other accomplishments... the thread she followed? Her desire to experience her dreams! Do listen to her - it may just help you to feed your inner fire ;)

I believe that being grateful for something is one of the most powerful tools to feel better immediately. Here are the two thanking bits of the month:
Thankful for... my fingers! Seriously, have you ever stopped to watch your fingers? Any action you do with them involves so many different coordinated movements, which you perform without even thinking. Try grabbing a book and a cup with the same hand - it might be difficult, but your fingers will find a way of twisting and moving to be able to grab both items at the same time. Amazing stuff!
Thankful for... Manuka honey. Up until a couple of weeks ago I had only tried Manuka honey in lozenges - but I had really liked them, so when I came across a 2x1 offer on Manuka honey I took the opportunity to buy it. I am grateful for the offer to buy two bottles of Manuka honey at the price of one, and for the honey itself - such a delicate taste with a very pleasant consistency. Love it! :)
