Why A Gratitude Rock
Is The Next Thing To Have

A gratitude rock is just a small rock that you can carry in your pockets and that you use to remember to be grateful.

Lee Brower tells about this rock in the movie "The Secret". He took a little rock and decided that every time he touched it he would think of something he was grateful for.

So when he puts the gratitude stone in his pocket in the morning he goes through what he is thankful for, and when he empties his pocket in the night and finds the rock he goes again through what he's thankful for.

I decided to give the use of the rock a little twist. I place my rock for gratitude (pictured above) around where I'm working, and every time I happen to look at it I stop to hold it and take the time to give thanks for something.

Get yourself a gratitude rock!

You can try for yourself the benefits of having a gratitude stone...

  • It's free. You can pick one up in a stream, or on the side of the road, or in a park. Pick one you like.

Mine is a stone called Citrine, which is meant to bring about abundance, manifestation and empowerment.

  • It makes you come back to living in the present, because when you focus on it and on being grateful you focus on the now, on what surrounds you. It also teaches you to appreciate everything that goes on in your life.

  • A gratitude stone is very powerful to switch to positive thinking. If you are in a neutral mood it lifts you up by the action of being grateful. If you happen to be upset or negative, you can get out of that state by dropping it altogether when you stop to be grateful.
