The monthly thought: Consciousness and positive thinking
A positive recommendation: Nick Vujicic
The thanking corner: the ability to move and uplifting music
What I've been up to: Creation
It has been a few weeks of fun and creativity in London and I've been enjoying them to the maximum.
For a start, it snowed! It's not frequent that London receives so much snow as it did: winter normally brings just one or two days of light snow, which doesn't really come to settle. This year though it started to snow heavily on a Sunday night, and I woke up to a white Monday - check the view from my balcony.
The snow brought people together, strangers all of a sudden throwing snowballs at each other and playing and having fun like kids. That was beautiful, and remarkable in this large city where people tend to do their own thing.
On the social sphere, a friend of my husband stayed over at our flat for a couple of nights. Together with another friend he has an act called "The Commercial Hippies": they create and play live psy-trance music. A creative atmosphere settled in with the exchange of ideas, music, philosophies of life and laughs - and I loved it.
It's all about creation. Check the monthly thought to arrive at your own power of creation through consciousness.
The Positive News: More trees for London
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, declared during his election that he would help make London greener with the planting of 10,000 trees. The first 1,500 are now being planted and they will not only make the city more attractive, but they will help clean the air of London as well.
This is great news for such a big city as London, where there is constant pollution from the large amount of traffic on its streets.
The Monthly Thought: Consciousness and positive thinking
As we all keep learning through living, little by little we enter a phase of consciousness, or if you like, awareness (what some may call enlightenment).
Conscious living means living with the knowledge that everything is connected. Everything is made up of the same substance. I know you may have read these words before somewhere else, but I would like you to really take them in now and find their meaning revealed in your daily life.
You see, as everything is made up of the same substance, this means that your computer, the room, the people you love and also the people you dislike is all the same thing, under different appearances. In a way, you could say that whenever you're dealing with that rock or that person you dislike you're dealing with yourself - specifically, with a different manifestation of yourself.
For me this has a lot of implications at many different levels. All of a sudden, the angry customer in front of me is not just an annoying person who happened to cross my path, but it is just another aspect of myself - and my dealings with that person are just so much smoother and caring from the stance that I'm dealing with myself. Amazing things happen as a result of confronting an old situation with a new point of view.
Perhaps the most important consequence of conscious living that I find is that it brings about a sense of responsibility and power of creation at a large scale. As you uplift yourself, you're contributing to uplifting everything and everybody else. Similarly, as you adopt an attitude of carelessness, you're contributing to everybody else being careless.
It's in this way that I find we can use positive thinking for the best of causes: to raise ourselves and raise the vibes of everything and everybody else. This is the great power of creation: at every moment it is in our hands to create whatever it is we want to see in the world - if you want to see peace, be peaceful yourself; if you want to see love, be loving yourself. Choose what you want to create - and create it.
But by no means does this imply that you now have to rush and make yourself feel good all the time to contribute to the world's well-being, or else the world will go down the drain and that'll be all your fault - LOL. The simple awareness of the fact that you're co-creating with Life is sufficient.
From now on these ideas will pop into your head every now and then, perhaps with increasing frequency, and all you have to do is to keep on living your life with the intention of raising yourself and thus contributing to raise everybody's welfare - and you'll be guided on exactly what to do at every point.
"Others see their possibility in the reality of you."
The Positive Recommendation: Nick Vujicic
Browsing YouTube a couple of weeks ago I came across the story of Nick Vujicic.
I don't really want to tell you much; I prefer that you watch the video and judge by yourself. All I'll say is, here's a great example of courage, determination, will, and a strong positive attitude.
I'm sure this video will put into perspective whatever "problems" you have.

The Thanking Corner
I believe that being grateful for something is one of the most powerful tools to feel better immediately. Here are the two thanking bits of the month:
Thankful for... the ability to move freely. Watching Nick Vujicic's story I realized how much I take my ability to move for granted. I am healthy and I can move with no problems; I am thankful for this.
Thankful for... uplifting music. Some Sundays I'll start my day with a good coffee, reading my email comfortably at home, while listening to some of my favourite pieces of classical music; oh boy life is good! :-) Here's one of my top choices: Beethoven's Symphony number 6, "Pastoral".
What are you thankful for? Send me an email trough the Contact Me form and let me know!
Care to send me your thoughts about this issue's topics? Email me and let me know!
If you enjoyed this newsletter, please pass it along to your friends, family and colleagues, or send them to the Dare To Play It Big sign up page. I thank you in advance.
Stay well,
Cristina
