A new day of positive thinking

Today is a new day of positive thinking - another opportunity to choose anew and to focus on thoughts that make you feel good.

I personally very much like the fresh energy of the early morning - when most people are still asleep and there's a quiet to the world. It's the perfect moment to, just awake and without rushing to anything, gently and consciously choose what to focus on.

That is, assuming that you can afford that time for yourself - that's not always possible if for example you have caring responsibilities or certain life circumstances, e.g. a job that starts at 6am. At times in my life I had the luxury of a good 2 or 3 hours for myself before I had to start doing anything. At other times, I had no more than a fast 10 min for myself in the shower.

Building a positive attitude

Consciously choosing thoughts that make you feel good, before rushing on to anything else (or as soon as you have some time-space for yourself) helps you to set the tone for the day and create a new day of positive thinking for yourself. Regardless how much time you might have for yourself in the morning, try the practice of spending a few minutes consciously entertaining thoughts of your choice or practising any other useful techniques, to create a positive state to last through the day. Read more
