Use the let go affirmation to release stress
I believe it's only natural for human beings to have wants and desires - from my point of view, it's one of the results of being conscious.
And having wants and setting goals to make the things that you want happen is fantastic - they help us to keep on moving and to aim for something greater.
However, sometimes we want something so much that we hold on to it (or just on the idea of it) a tad too tightly...
This is, the emotional attachment to what we want is so grand that it can at times lead to anxiety and desperation - for not having it yet, or for having it and feeling fear to lose it.
And yet nothing may be happening in actuality, but your thoughts may go like "I'm never going to achieve that", or "I don't want this to finish" - either way causing a subtle emotional reaction of stress.
I have found a perfect affirmation that I use regularly: the 'let go' affirmation. I use this affirmation to counteract the thoughts of holding on to something and to release the emotional stress those thoughts have created.
As you read the following let go affirmations, feel them fully and observe the peace they bring about:
I let go of the need to be perfect
I let go of having to achieve my goals
I let go of having to have [x situation] happen
I let go of the need to be beautiful
I let go of the need to escape [x situation]
The perfect stance from which to operate, I've found, is to recognize what you want, figure out the way to get it, and work on it a little every day, all the while allowing for a certain detachment so that you can afford emotionally to not have it happen.
As for the rest, know that everything is perfect the way it is, and that which you're working on is happening already behind the scenes. And if you find yourself holding on to it too tightly, release the stress with the let go affirmation.
"You will find that it is necessary to let things go; simply for the reason that they are heavy. So let them go, let go of them. I tie no weights to my ankles."
